We were waiting for our ride ashore at 0700 this morning. Sitting in the dingy tied to the Coast Guard buoy. On our way to shore we saw some porpoises and passed Dave Power and Dave Percy who were headed out to locate the lost moorings in the cove.
After breakfast and doing the laundry we met Connie at the office. We then took off to the Dolphin Marina Restaurant in Harpswell. Dee, the incoming FOSI president joined us. The drive was well worth it. Many vistas of boats, water and just fantastic scenery lined the way. The Dolphin is known for its “World Famous Fish Chowder”, and that is what all of us ordered. It comes with a fresh, hot blueberry muffin and both the muffin and the chowdah were excellent. They kept asking us if we wanted dessert and we said “no” three times, but the fourth time was a winner. I got a piece of warm blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and the girls shared a piece of warm peach and blueberry cobbler with ice cream and whipped cream as well.
Good….VERY good!
After we said goodbye it was on to Walmart for grocery shopping and back at the dock by 1700. The sky was cloudy and threatening rain, but it never happened. We made it back to the island dry and with all our gear. A few boats were moored in the cove and we talked to some visitors on the beach.
