Happy Birthday Mister Wesley!

Our youngest grandson Wesley Frank Simmons is three today. He will be here next week and we’ll be glad to him, mom and dad. I talked to our daughter Dawn this morning. Both of our children and all of our grandchildren got together today and went to Frontier Town Water Park near Ocean City, Maryland. They said that when they arrived at 1000 it was already one hundred degrees.

Not that hot here on Seguin. It was muggy and warm, about eighty degrees and not much sun. A few visitors showed up for tours and Brenda sold some items in the store. I went to the cove and looked for Mr. Whiskers, but he was not to be found. I hope he is well and made it back to his family.

In the morning Brenda decided to tackle our bathroom. She began by using a razor blade to get the old paint off the windows and then used a scraper to remove loose and flaking paint from the ceiling, walls, and anything else that got in her way. You know what is going to happen next….PAINT. I know that by the time we are gone she will have the entire inside of the house (both sides) painted.

Crazy woman.

And guess what I did? Yep, I tackled the composting toilet for the second time. It has given us zero problems. No flies or gnats as long as the moisture content is right. No smell as long as the fan is working. Simply put…..no problems. But it does require periodic maintenance such as dumping the finishing drawer and cleaning that area. Back with the gloves, scraper and temporary smell while this job is done. Now we are set again and it probably will not need dumping before we leave. I need to do the same thing to the unit in the guest quarters before our guests arrive next week.
