Thursday, August 6
Hello, I ‘m the ghost writer for August 6, 2009 Who am I ???
At 0930 we went down to the trail and paddled out to meet Ethan at the cove. The sky was beautiful, and the sun was a red-orange glow. It was about 0945 when he showed up, and we got on.
After, we saw porpoises and an eagle’s nest on our way up the Kennebec, and met Ethan’s girlfriend. Chase and I also pulled up a couple lobster traps and got mooned by an 80 year old they call Santa Claus. We saw a bunch of seals too!
We got back and helped Aunt Brenda do some chores at the lighthouse. Then we went down the south trail and on the way my mom slipped on the rocks and fell on her behind. But on the trail it was amazing, one of my favorite trails.
Tomorrow, we plan to go whale watching and go on a moose safari, my name is Jarod and I am the caretaker’s nephew of this lighthouse.
Yes, my eleven year old nephew, Jarod, wrote the above account of his adventures of August 6th. They hired Ethan to take them on a cruise, do some sightseeing, fishing, pull lobster traps, etc. Everyone had a good time. The boys caught pollock and used them to bait some lobster traps.
Brenda volunteered to stay at the lighthouse and host any visitors.
Mark, Donna, Jarod and Chase will be leaving tomorrow. They have plans to go whale watching out of Boothbay and then on to Greenville for a moose safari on Sunday. The weather looks good and they should have a great time.
