We spent all day today mowing, trimming and working around the lighthouse and keepers quarters. It is 1900 and both of us are beat. The grounds look great, the light is working, the weather is fantastic and we are here together taking it all in. Even though we are working hard, one look at the surroundings makes it all worthwhile. Water everywhere, sailboats making their way to Boothbay Harbor, the gong of the buoys and the satisfaction of a job well done are constant reminders of this beautiful place.
We are privileged to be here.
I suggested to Brenda that tomorrow be a day of rest. She has her eyes set on painting the dining room. I have mine set on rest.
We’ll see how that goes.
